CMS Future Update Options
Joomla CMS software is constantly being developed and updated. As enhancements are made and security exploits are identified and addressed, it is vital that your website is kept up-to-date with the latest stable version of the core Joomla software and related installed features. We offer two update packages – one for carrying out annual updates, and one where we carry out updates on an ad-hoc basis at an hourly rate.
There are usually many core Joomla updates released each year and the related work involved in a CMS website update would normally involve:
a complete backup of your Joomla website (files and database); installing the core Joomla update; updating the various extensions installed on your site, and finally, updating your template/theme design (where appropriate) if needed after the update.
This work can take anything from 20 minutes for a simple update on a very small basic site, to many hours for a larger site, depending on the type of update, the number of extensions and how they are affected, and the exact type, size and content of the website being updated.
